Every single day at Get to Know Animals, we wake up knowing that 300+ rescued animals are counting on us. From Lacoste our American alligator to tiny tree frogs, from chatty Macawly Culkin our macaw to our cheeky squirrel monkeys – each one has a story of rescue, rehabilitation, and hope.
But here's the reality: caring for this many exotic animals costs over £35,000 every month. That's fresh food, specialist diets, veterinary care, heating, cleaning, enrichment, and so much more.
As a non-profit CIC (Community Interest Company), we're a totally self-funded sanctuary and struggling to find external funding or grants. We rely entirely on the generosity of animal lovers like you to keep our animals alive and thriving, and our doors open to the communities and educational organisations and groups that need us the most.

Unlike one-off donations, monthly giving helps us *plan ahead*. We can budget for expensive specialist food, book crucial vet visits, and sleep a little easier knowing we have steady support for these animals who've already been let down once.
Every animal at GTKA is here because someone couldn't or wouldn't care for them properly. We've given them a *forever home* where they're loved, respected, and celebrated. But we can only continue this mission with supporters like you.
